Global law firm McDermott Will & Schulte announced that it has promoted 36 lawyers to partner and four to counsel, effective January 1, 2027.
The promotions reflect the firm’s continued investment in the New York market, where 13 of the new partners are located, and strengthen its private capital platform. The class adds depth across private equity, investment funds, and M&A — the practices at the center of how capital is raised and deployed and how returns are realized.
“Our success is built on people who challenge convention, embrace complexity, and help clients move forward with confidence. Across every practice and office, this class does exactly that,” said McDermott Chairman Ira Coleman. “We are proud to recognize their accomplishments and are excited to see how they will continue to shape the future of our firm.”
“Building across transactions means having the capabilities our clients need to put capital to work,” said Harris Siskind, McDermott’s Global Transactions Practice Group Head. “Together, these lawyers extend the firm’s ability to advise clients across the full investment lifecycle, from fund formation through acquisition and exit.”
The class reflects the breadth of the firm’s global talent. Half of the newly promoted lawyers are women, and the class spans 13 cities across four countries: France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
