“Leverest Relationship Tracker” H1 2025: McDermott Top-listed for Financing Transactions in the DACH Region

Frankfurt/Munich, 6 October 2025 – International law firm McDermott Will & Schulte maintains its leading market position as legal advisor for financing transactions in the DACH region.

For the third year in a row, the “Leverest Relationship Tracker” for H1 2025 ranks McDermott as the most sought-after law firm for acquisition financing on the lender side. In terms of the total number of acquisition financings advised, McDermott once again ranks second as legal advisor to private equity funds, underscoring its strong overall position in the mid-market segment.

“Achieving a top ranking in the Relationship Tracker again is a great endorsement of our work,” said Matthias Weissinger, partner with McDermott in Munich. “We would like to thank our clients for their trust and are delighted that we are recognised in the market as the first-choice advisor for complex financing transactions.”

Just recently, the firm was nominated by JUVE as “Law Firm of the Year for Banking and Finance Law”, and ranks first for private equity transactions in the DACH region in the latest PitchBook Report.

The Leverest Relationship Tracker, created by Frankfurt-based FinTech Leverest and published exclusively in FINANCE Magazine, analyses mid-market LBO transactions in the DACH region and highlights the relationships between private equity investors, debt advisors and legal advisors. In the first half of 2025, over 150 transactions were evaluated, with 75 debt providers and 35 law firms taken into account.
