McDermott Advises Venator on Sale from Insolvency to ICIG

Düsseldorf, January 19, 2026 — McDermott Will & Schulte has advised the chemical manufacturer Venator Germany GmbH on the sale of its entire business operations to International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG).

The long-established Duisburg-based company has been under provisional insolvency administration by Anchor attorney Sarah Wolf since September 2025. The sale secures the future of the site. All 350 jobs will be retained.

The closing of the transaction is still subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office and is expected in February 2026.

The McDermott team was led by partner Benedikt Schulz and comprised partners Maximilian Clostermeyer, Carina Kant and Thomas Gennert as well as associates Tjark Pogoda, Max Küttner and Carina Schützeberg.
