Lea Borger advises clients on antitrust and competition law.

Lea studied law at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and at the University of Zagreb. She gained practical experience in the area of dispute resolution while working as a research assistant at an internationally renowned law firm.

As part of her legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Darmstadt, Lea completed traineeships at civil, criminal and administrative courts. She undertook her legal and elective traineeships at internationally renowned law firms in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin, focusing on dispute resolution, compliance and internal investigations.

Vladimir (Vlad) Popik focuses his practice on financial services matters, with an emphasis on structured finance, securitizations, and asset-backed lending. He advises underwriters, lenders, issuers, borrowers, and service providers across a broad spectrum of asset classes, including litigation advances, structured settlements, life settlements, insurance commissions, equipment leases, lottery receivables, and other specialty finance products. He also represents investors, lenders, hedge funds, private equity funds, and finance companies in purchases and dispositions of portfolios of assets and financing secured by those portfolios.

Liam Erraghni focuses his practice on structured finance transactions, in particular leveraged buyout (LBO) transactions, acquisition financing (build-ups), fund financing (equity bridge financing) and debt restructuring. He also has experience in asset finance.

Liam advises both lenders (senior and subordinated) and borrowers.

Liam previously worked at several international firms in Luxembourg and Paris.

Dr. Svenja Hefner advises financial investors and companies on domestic and cross-border transactions as well as on corporate reorganizations, with a focus on Corporate/M&A and Private Equity. She has experience advising on small- to large-cap transactions, public takeovers, and matters relating to stock corporation and group law.

Prior to joining McDermott, she worked as an associate in the Corporate/M&A practice of an international law firm.

Rafael Jacobs focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters.

While in law school, Rafael was a staff editor for the Journal of Law and Liberty.
