Munich, February 27, 2025 – McDermott Will & Emery has advised listed discoverIE Group plc, a leading international designer and manufacturer of customised electronics to industry, on the acquisition of burster präzisionsmesstechnik gmbh & co kg, a German-based designer and manufacturer of specialist sensors.
The company will join discoverIE’s Sensing cluster while continuing to operate under existing management and retaining the burster brand identity.
Founded in 1961, burster Präzisionsmesstechnik provides innovative sensors, automation instrumentation, and measurement and calibration solutions to customers in virtually every industry in more than 60 countries.
discoverIE, based in the Greater London area, UK, is an international group of companies that manufactures highly differentiated, innovative electronic components and solutions for industrial OEMs. In 2024, the group generated sales of around GBP 440 million with over 4,500 employees.
The McDermott team was led by partner Carsten Böhm and comprised partners Carina Kant, Christian Rolf, Steffen Woitz, Alexa Ningelgen, Felix Ganzer, Pierre-André Brandt, Heidi Steele, Agata Todarello, counsel Marcus Fischer, Simon Groneberg and Timothy Carson, as well as associates Lisa-Marie Tillmanns, Carolin Irla, Marion Dalvai-König, Janek Joosten, Sönke Wassermann, Philip Uecker and Will Orner.
