Lisa Mazur joins the ATA EDGE 2025 Policy Conference as a speaker on the panel “Inside the Mind of the Experts: A Candid Roundtable on Telemedicine Law & Policy” on December 11, 2025. Step into a rare, behind-the-scenes conversation as four of the nation’s foremost legal experts in telemedicine and digital health law gather for an unfiltered, unscripted roundtable discussion. Moderated by ATA Board Chair Nathaniel Lacktman, this session invites attendees to observe an intimate and dynamic exchange on the most pressing legal and policy issues shaping virtual care today — from the corporate practice of medicine and privacy enforcement, to the legal risks of DTC advertising, pharma-telehealth collaborations, and prescribing controlled substances without in-person exams.

In this fireside-style format, the speakers won’t hold back. They’ll share frank perspectives on what current laws get right (or wrong), where regulation is headed, and how litigation and enforcement trends are reshaping the field. With no slides and no fluff, this is the closest you’ll get to sitting in on a private dinner between the industry’s top legal minds. Prepare for a lively, opinionated, and thought-provoking conversation you won’t want to miss.

Patrick Zanayed joins the ATA EDGE 2025 Policy Conference as a speaker on the “Debating Private Sector Investment in Healthcare: Innovation vs. Oversight in the Digital Health Era” panel on December 10, 2025. As private equity, tech giants, and non-traditional players expand their footprint in healthcare, the long-standing debate around the corporate practice of medicine is being reignited—with digital health at the center. This high-energy session brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and state health officials to debate the benefits and risks of private sector investment in care delivery. Should states enact stricter guardrails to preserve medical autonomy and patient protections, or are new models driving needed innovation and access?

Featuring perspectives from companies like Amazon, alongside legislative voices behind bills like Oregon’s recent proposal, this debate will tackle one of the most consequential and controversial questions shaping the future of virtual care.

Marshall Jackson joins HLTH USA 2025 as moderator for the panel, “The Big Bill Fallout” on October 20, 2025. The panel discusses how the “Big Beautiful Bill” will slash $793 billion to federal Medicaid spending, leaving an estimated 7.8 million Americans without coverage. The bill will negatively impact the health of the nation’s most vulnerable populations, including people with disabilities and the elderly, for years to come. The legislation specifically eliminates federal Medicaid and ACA funding for medically necessary care for an estimated 180,000 transgender adults who rely on Medicaid for essential healthcare services. Not to mention the 3.2 million low-income Americans that rely on it for food assistance and eligible recipients who will lose coverage because of paperwork requirements. The profound consequences of these unprecedented cuts on Medicaid and how that will exacerbate existing gaps in our system are yet to be fully comprehended. Panelists dissect policy frameworks driving these changes, effects on healthcare systems already operating under significant strain, and evaluate the difficult choices the states face when federal support is withdrawn.
