Overview

International law firm McDermott Will & Schulte is pleased to announce the publication of Ten Years of the GDPR – A Milestone in EU Data Regulation, a new casebook examining the evolution of European data protection law over the past decade. The casebook features chapters authored by McDermott’s Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity partners Pilar Arzuaga and Natallia Karniyevich, and associate Katelyn Ringrose.

In the casebook, McDermott’s attorneys explore key tenets of the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR), specifically diving into Article 5 (Purpose limitation and further processing), Article 6 (The Principle of data minimisation), and Article 17 (The Right to Erasure, also known as the “Right to be Forgotten”).

Published to mark the GDPR’s 10th anniversary, the volume brings together contributors from industry, legal practice, public authorities, the judiciary, and academia to discuss selected court decisions, regulatory guidance, and developments in European data law.
