Overview
During our recent Global Antitrust Update webinar, our international team examined the latest enforcement trends and policy shifts shaping competition law across key jurisdictions.
The program began with a transatlantic update on recent developments in the United States and Europe, providing context on key enforcement actions and emerging regulatory priorities. Zachary Sproull and Dr. Laura Stammwitz highlighted notable antitrust developments on both sides of the Atlantic, identifying emerging themes in global enforcement and policy.
The discussion then turned to EU/US tech enforcement and a focused look at digital market enforcement trends, including the EU Digital Markets Act and major US tech monopolization cases. Kristina Nordlander led a fascinating discussion between McDermott partner Elai Katz and special guest speaker, Dr Liza Lovdahl Gormsen of the European Competition Law Forum
The webinar closed with a look at gun jumping and pre-closing conduct: An overview of heightened agency scrutiny of transaction processes, including recent gun-jumping actions and information-exchange risks. Carina Kant, Frédéric Pradelles and Lisa Rumin covered best practices and practical safeguards to manage exposure from signing through closing.
