Paul M. Thompson is the managing partner of McDermott Will & Schulte’s Washington, DC office and serves as the firm’s pro bono litigation partner. He represents clients in complex criminal and civil matters, with extensive experience in global investigations, internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and the development and implementation of global compliance programs.

With a particular focus in the healthcare industry, Paul handles complex criminal and civil healthcare matters. He represents healthcare clients that are the subject of criminal investigations and civil enforcement proceedings. A significant part of Paul’s practice is devoted to representing clients in matters involving allegations under the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark Law. In addition, he helps healthcare providers and hospital systems conduct internal investigations, file self-disclosures, and update compliance programs.
