Hunter R. Sharp

Hunter Sharp focuses his practice on complex US and cross-border transactional matters. He leads teams representing private equity firms, family offices, and strategic investors in the structuring and negotiation of leveraged buyouts, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, growth equity and venture capital investments, divestitures, and other general corporate and governance matters.

Hunter has experience across a variety of industries, including healthcare, life sciences, basic industries, consumer goods, packaging, IT outsourcing, real estate services, manufacturing, and business services.

Prior to joining McDermott, Hunter served as vice president and assistant general counsel at Newmark Group Inc., a commercial real estate firm. He also worked as an associate at another international law firm.

In every client engagement, he brings an understanding of how to work closely with and advise senior management teams, both internally and as an outside advisor.

• Represented Iron Path Capital in a wide variety of transactions including its investments in Capitol Pain Institute, PureTech Scientific, Nalas Engineering Services, Aetherion, PRO-SET Formulated Resin Systems, VION Biosciences, TruTech Servo Motors & Systems, ClearChoiceMD and CareWell (and subsequent formation of the Emergence Health platform), and Versant Diagnostics
• Represented Ampersand Capital in a variety of transactions and ongoing portfolio company work, including the acquisitions of Cadence Fluidics and Pharma Packaging Solutions, the sales of Tjoapack to Alcami and Adaptas Solutions to IMI Plc, and investments in CurTec, P95, Biosynth, and Specac Ltd.
• Represented Enhanced Healthcare Partners in a wide variety of transactions including investments in LeadingReach and Alora Behavioral Health, the sale of PAI Pharma to Olympus Partners, and a growth investment in Vytalize Health
• Represented Quad-C Management in its investments in Dane Street and US Endo Partners and in the sales of PRISM Vision Group to McKesson Corporation and VMG Health to Northlane Capital Partners
• Represented Amulet Capital in the acquisition of United Vein & Vascular Centers
• Represented Lindsay Goldberg in a variety of transactions, including the sales of Women’s Care Enterprises to BC Partners and PT Solutions to General Atlantic, its investment in Lightwave Dental, and the formation of its Doppler Veterinary Network platform and associated acquisitions of veterinary practices in multiple states
• Represented RC Capital in its investments in AlignedCardio and Captive Radiology
• Represented G Square Capital and 1315 Capital in their investment in 3B Scientific
• Represented Gemspring Capital in its platform acquisition of Security 101 and subsequent add-on acquisitions, and its portfolio company Rapid Displays in a variety of transactions, including the acquisition of Outform
• Represented SIGNA Sports United in its creation of its U.S. tennis platform through investments in Midwest Sports and Tennis Express
• Represented private equity sponsors, including GHO Capital Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, McNally Capital, Baring Private Equity Asia, Cressey & Company, Berkshire Partners, and TPG Capital, in domestic and international acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments and divestitures*
