Elizabeth Rodd focuses her practice on high-stakes commercial litigation and government investigations. She represents clients in a broad range of civil and criminal proceedings, including contract disputes, business torts, sexual assault allegations, federal securities laws and white-collar criminal matters at the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts across the country.
Elizabeth co-leads the Firm’s Institutional Sexual Misconduct Response Team (SMRT). This team specializes in handling all aspects of investigations and litigation involving allegations of sexual assault, abuse and misconduct. She has a proven track record of success, including a recent series of victories in which her clients were dismissed from New York Child Victims Act cases early in the proceedings. She is well versed in the evolving revival legislation across the country that provides limited periods for sexual abuse survivors to file otherwise time-barred civil claims, including the New York Child Victims Act and Adult Survivors Act. Elizabeth is skilled at managing crises, protecting her clients’ reputations and approaching sexual misconduct cases with care and sensitivity—making her a trusted advisor to clients navigating these matters.
Elizabeth is experienced in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, as well as in domestic arbitration, including pre-filing investigation and case assessment, fact and expert discovery, legal research, motion practice, trial preparation, trial and appeals. She has vigorously defended clients in investigations from regulatory and criminal enforcement agencies and is experienced in conducting internal investigations to help clients detect and address problems before they result in formal government inquiries or litigations. Her comprehensive investigation and litigation experience enables her to effectively conduct Title IX investigations and litigations as well. Additionally, she counsels clients on compliance issues and works with them to develop and implement compliance programs.
Elizabeth is the Chair of the Boston Women’s Committee and serves on the Firm’s Gender Diversity Committee. She also has an active pro bono practice, including conducting an independent investigation of a deadly COVID-19 outbreak at a veterans’ home.
While in law school, Elizabeth was a judicial intern for the Hon. Judith G. Dein in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She was also the executive comments editor for the Boston College Law Review and admitted to the Order of the Coif.
