McDermott Will & Schulte advises Surgery Partners on $5.7B acquisition by HealthSpan Partners

Global law firm McDermott Will & Schulte LLP advised Surgery Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ:SGRY), a leading short-stay surgical facility owner and operator, in its acquisition by HealthSpan Partners, a contractual affiliate and supporting organization of US-based Bon Secours Mercy Health (“BSMH”), in an all-cash transaction valued at an enterprise value of approximately $5.7 billion.

This landmark take-private transaction, one of the largest in the history of the ambulatory surgery center industry, underscores the continued acceleration of strategic investment and consolidation in outpatient surgical care and is poised to reshape the landscape of the ASC industry. This acquisition allows HealthSpan Partners and Surgery Partners to establish one of the largest outpatient surgical care platforms in the country.
