Nick Alarif discusses growing interest in value-based care with Law360

Nick Alarif spoke with Law360 Healthcare Authority about why hospitals and health systems are increasingly exploring value-based care as they navigate financial pressures and seek to improve performance and retain talent.

Nick explained that value-based models, which can tie physician payments to the quality and cost of care, can have meaningful impacts on overall performance and alignment with physicians when implemented effectively. He also highlighted how regulatory changes have given health systems greater flexibility to structure compensation arrangements that reward physicians for meeting quality and care goals.

“Many are looking at these pathways as a way to do that non-sexy ‘blocking and tackling’ as a strategy, among others, to be ready for the next five to 10 years,” Nick said.
