McDermott Comment | Wilko Collapses Into Administration Putting 12,500 Jobs At Risk

“Wilko is a strong example of a business where liquidity is the key to navigating periods of macroeconomic difficulty. With rising interest costs and inflation, those businesses with leaner margins will be at greater risk. This is a large business and hopefully, one where a rescue deal can be reached to protect the significant workforce – but it will likely not be the only budget retail business to face the predicament of mounting cash pressures in the coming weeks and months.”
