Asseret Frausto receives Victim Rights Law Center Shining Star Award

October 2, 2026 – Global law firm McDermott Will & Schulte is delighted to announce Asseret Frausto has been recognized by the Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) with its 2026 Shining Star Award.

Asseret focuses on high-stakes commercial litigation as well as government and internal investigations, including complex trial and appellate matters in federal and state courts across the country. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, through which she has represented numerous asylum seekers and championed privacy rights for sexual assault survivors. Most recently, as a pro bono lawyer for VRLC, she secured a landmark victory before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court protecting a minor sexual assault survivor’s mental health records from improper disclosure.

The Victim Rights Law Center’s Shining Star Celebration honors individuals and organizations that advocate for sexual assault survivors and fight for justice.
