Real Estate Update: News on the new Heating System Law/Amendment of the Building Energy Law

Following the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court, the Bundestag is now to decide on the bill, also known as the Heating Act, “to amend the Building Energy Act, to amend the Heating Costs Ordinance and to amend the Sweeping and Inspection Ordinance” after the parliamentary summer break in September. However, according to the coalition factions, changes to the present draft law are not planned. The law is still to come into force on 1 January 2024.
