Delaware Unclaimed Property — New World Order

Overview

On February 2, 2017, Delaware Governor John Carney signed comprehensive unclaimed property legislation that became effective immediately. The bill has already had a major impact on holders and will continue to for years to come. In addition to modifying many fundamental aspects of Delaware’s unclaimed property law, the bill will require holders currently under audit to make a number of strategic decisions in the coming months. Our panelists will provide an overview of the major changes that holders need to know about to stay in compliance in Delaware and will outline the options going forward for holders with a pending audit.

Moderator Stephen P. Kranz will be joined by Diann Smith and guest speakers Pat Reynolds (Council On State Taxation) and Geoff Sawyer (Drinker Biddle), whose firm is responsible for administering the State’s Voluntary Disclosure Agreement program.
