Douglas Koff served as Co‑Chair of Practising Law Institute’s Understanding the Securities Laws 2026. He spoke on the panel “Liability for Securities Law Violations.” The session examined liability under the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, including key statutory provisions, insider trading theories, and recent case law developments such as Slack and Panuwat. The panel also addressed practical considerations related to Section 16 reporting, 10b5‑1 plans, and evolving SEC enforcement trends.

The two-day program was designed to provide an introduction of the U.S. securities laws and the fundamentals of securities laws practice, as well as to give pragmatic guidance for securities lawyers practicing in today’s public and private securities markets. Learn more on PLI’s website.
