Overview
Gregg M. Galardi is the Global Co-Head of the firm’s Business Restructuring group. Over the course of his 30 years in legal practice, Gregg has represented several high-profile debtors, creditors, secured and unsecured lenders, and other stakeholders in and out of court on high profile complex chapter 11 restructurings and international solvency matters across diverse industries. His practice encompasses all phases of restructuring proceedings, from prepetition planning and debtor-in-possession (DIP) financings through plan confirmation and emergence, as well as reorganizations, restructurings and turnarounds, and distressed asset sales. He also has extensive experience advising private equity sponsors and portfolio companies in liability management transactions, distressed mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and special situations.
Recognized as a leading lawyer in his practice, Gregg regularly represents large multinational enterprises and mid-market companies navigating significant financial distress. His debtor-side experience includes leading restructurings involving billions in liabilities and hundreds of millions in funded indebtedness across the manufacturing, retail, food and beverage, finance, entertainment, energy, and technology sectors.
Gregg’s lender-side experience includes representing secured lenders, DIP lenders, first and second lien agents in connection with DIP financing, credit bidding strategies, and asset acquisitions through Section 363 sales.
Gregg also represents official committees of unsecured creditors and other creditor constituencies, including serving as lead counsel to creditor committees in matters involving complex claims, corporate governance challenges and causes of action investigations. His experience further includes appellate and amicus work on significant insolvency law issues before appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
Over the past several decades, Gregg has earned numerous accolades for his work. He is a member of the American College of Bankruptcy and has been listed as a top legal provider in Chambers Global, Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Legal 500 USA, and Law360, among other publications. A former law clerk to a Judge on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and adjunct professor at Vanderbilt Law School, Gregg speaks frequently at legal and industry events and conferences and has published several articles on restructuring.
