Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Florian worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Business Taxation at the University of Bamberg and completed his doctorate in 2014. He then worked for several years as a chartered tax advisor for a reputable international law firm in Berlin and Frankfurt.

Florian is the author of numerous articles and publications on topics surrounding national and international tax law. He is a lecturer for international tax law at the University of Bamberg and a frequent speaker on tax issues.

Dr. Kian Tauser, M. Jur. (Oxford University) advises financial institutions, investment banks, private equity houses, and fund initiators on transaction-centered tax and fund formation law in the following areas: Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) / acquisition structuring, Real estate transactions, Group reorganizations, Structured finance, Restructurings, Fully integrated advice on fund formation, Management participation and Tax audits.

Kian is a frequent author and speaker on tax and fund formation issues. He is double-qualified as a lawyer as well as a chartered tax advisor.

Matthias Weissinger advises on domestic and cross-border financings as well as restructuring. His extensive experience provides valuable advice to national and international financial institutions, debt funds, sponsors, and corporate borrowers. Matthias's expertise covers a wide range of areas, including leveraged buyouts, unitranche financings, bank/bond financings, and corporate lending for large and mid-cap companies.

In addition to his financing work, he has a strong background in complex debt restructurings, out-of-court solutions, insolvency proceedings, and distressed M&A transactions.

Matthias regularly publishes and lectures on insolvency and restructuring issues and acquisition finance.

Hanno M. Witt advises German and international Private Equity sponsors and other financial investors as well as corporations on M&A transactions, including cross-border transactions, joint ventures, carve-outs, and management participation programs. He regularly assists clients on both the sell side as well as buy side and helps clients prepare for and navigate through auction processes. His broad sector expertise includes Healthcare, Industrials, Infrastructure, Consumer Products and Technology.

Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Hanno worked at the corporate department of other international law firms in Munich.

Ludwig Zesch advises national and international private equity funds, corporate borrowers, debt funds and financial institutions on a range of complex domestic and cross-border financings. His practice includes acquisition finance, direct lending, leveraged buyouts and corporate financing.

Ludwig has particular experience handling significant acquisition financings involving a range of debt structures, including unitranche/super senior structures.

Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, he worked for other leading international law firms with the same advisory focus in Munich and Frankfurt.

Ludwig is the co-author of Acquisition Finance Agreements in Germany, a comprehensive commentary on credit agreements for leveraged buyouts under German law.

Nicole Kaps specializes in legal advice on international and national M&A transactions. She focuses her practice on private equity. In addition, she advises on general corporate law as well as on reorganisations and restructurings.

Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Nicole worked for two international law firms in the private equity and corporate/M&A sectors.

Dr. Christian Marzlin represents German and international clients in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.

Christian has wide experience in the fields of private equity, venture capital as well as strategic investments. Moreover, he regularly advises clients on complex strategic joint-ventures, reorganizations and general corporate law.
