Nicholas Franich , PhD

Nicholas provides support for patent litigation and post-grant proceedings before the USPTO, including conducting patent infringement and invalidity analyses. He analyzes patent portfolios and performs freedom to operate and patent landscape analyses. Nicholas also manages and provides strategic advice for prosecution for several worldwide patent portfolios.

Prior to becoming a patent agent, Nicholas led preclinical research projects in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, Los Angeles, with a focus on drug discovery for neurological disorders such as Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, in genetic mouse models.

While at UCLA, Nicholas was awarded research grants from the Hereditary Disease Foundation and the International Essential Tremor Foundation and led research projects investigating therapeutics such as antisense oligonucleotides.
