Schulte prepares for Oklahoma Supreme Court oral arguments representing Tulsa Race Massacre survivors

The Oklahoma Supreme Court granted our clients’, Lessie Benningfield ‘Mother’ Randle and Viola Ford ‘Mother’ Fletcher, the last living survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, motion for oral argument.
Schulte Roth & Zabel with co-counsel Damario Solomon-Simmons of Justice for Greenwood will make an in-person presentation to the Supreme Court Justices arguing for reversal of the District Court’s dismissals of the public nuisance and unjust enrichment claims.
Co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Group Michael Swartz noted the significance of this appearance, stating, “This is a historic milestone for Mother Randle, Mother Fletcher and the collective Greenwood community with the Oklahoma Supreme Court scheduling oral arguments for April 2nd. We look forward to the opportunity to explain to the court why our clients have met Oklahoma’s pleading requirements and why the case should continue expeditiously in the trial court.”
