Dr. Thomas Gennert advises national and international companies on all aspects of individual and collective employment law as well as on Corporate Governance matters and compliance-related questions.

He advises executive boards, managing directors, supervisory boards, and other corporate bodies on the preparation of compensation systems, the negotiation of service and termination agreements, on liability issues, and in the area of corporate co-determination.

Thomas is working in the context of internal investigations and on employee data privacy aspects.

He also represents clients in employment law disputes in court and in arbitration proceedings.

Thomas regularly publishes articles on employment law aspects and is a lecturer at the Governance Academy.

Before joining McDermott, he worked for an international law firm in Düsseldorf and New York.

Dustin Schwerdtfeger advises corporate clients, venture capitalists, venture debt funds, banks and other financial institutions on banking and finance matters, in particular on credit financing in association with venture debt, real estate and corporate acquisitions. He has extensive experience in Venture Capital/Debt Financing, Acquisition Financing, Corporate Financing, Real Estate Financing (within a country and across borders, individual property and portfolio transactions) and Project and Project Development Financing.

As a legal trainee at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, Dustin worked, inter alia, at the Court of Appeal of England and Wales in London and at an international law firm in Düsseldorf in the field of corporate law/mergers and acquisitions.

Sebastian Bonk advises companies, investors, founders and management on all aspects of corporate law as well as on national and international M&A transactions. He also regularly advises on venture capital and venture debt financings. He furthermore focuses on advising on management and employee shareholdings as well as on the structuring of equity-based incentive compensation.

Dr. Philip Uecker focuses his practice on intellectual property and on data protection and privacy law. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) und Digital Legal Counsel (BUJ certified).

Prior to joining the firm, Philip worked at a German bank as an in-house lawyer, following roles in the higher education sector as a lecturer and a research assistant. Philip regularly writes on data protection and privacy topics and lectures at the University of Münster.
