McDermott advises Medicover on the sale of its India hospital business to KKR

Global law firm McDermott Will & Schulte advised Medicover on its sale, alongside minority shareholders, of 100 per cent of equity in Medicover Hospitals India, to funds managed by global investment firm KKR. The transaction values Medicover Hospitals India at approximately €1.2 billion. Subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Medicover Hospitals India is one of India’s leading healthcare providers, comprising 24 hospitals, approximately 4,800 beds and around 11,400 employees as of 30 June 2026. The transaction supports Medicover’s strategy to accelerate investment in its core European markets while strengthening its financial position.
