Global Antitrust Update | Webinar Series – New Year 2026

Overview

During our recent Global Antitrust Update webinar, our international team examined the latest enforcement trends and policy shifts shaping competition law across key jurisdictions.

The program began with a transatlantic update on recent developments in the United States and Europe, providing context on key enforcement actions and emerging regulatory priorities.

Axel Schulz and Ryan Tisch then highlighted notable antitrust developments on both sides of the Atlantic, identifying emerging themes in global enforcement and policy.

The discussion next turned to the growing scrutiny of below-threshold M&A transactions. Stéphane Dionnet, Frédéric Pradelles, and Ryan Tisch explored how regulators—particularly in France and other EU jurisdictions—are increasingly reviewing transactions that fall below traditional merger thresholds, and the resulting “call-in” risks for dealmakers.

The session concluded with an in-depth discussion on the role of economic expertise in shaping antitrust enforcement priorities. Nicholas Hill, PhD (Bates White), and Professor Kai-Uwe Kühn (BRG), interviewed by Greg Heltzer, examined how evolving economic thinking is influencing agency focus under both the Trump administration and European Commission Commissioner Teresa Ribera.

Together, the speakers offered practical insights into how these developments are affecting deal strategy, enforcement risk, and competition compliance planning in a rapidly evolving global environment.
