Dr. Florian Schiefer advises clients on international corporate and group tax law, international tax planning, transaction tax, real estate taxation, and investment taxation.

Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Florian worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Business Taxation at the University of Bamberg and completed his doctorate in 2014. He then worked for several years as a chartered tax advisor for a reputable international law firm in Berlin and Frankfurt.

Florian is the author of numerous articles and publications on topics surrounding national and international tax law. He is a lecturer for international tax law at the University of Bamberg and a frequent speaker on tax issues.

Ilka Handte advises investment management companies and asset managers on regulatory issues in connection with the structuring, establishment and management of investment funds. She also advises institutional investors on the structuring and eligibility of (fund) investments, in particular in the areas of real estate, infrastructure and private equity.

Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, she worked for several years in the legal department of the German Investment and Asset Management Association (BVI) and for international law firms.

She is also an experienced speaker and participant in panel discussions.
