Overview
International law firm McDermott Will & Schulte announced today that Tyler Carson has joined the firm as a partner in the Transactions Practice Group, based in New York. Tyler advises clients on complex public and private M&A, cross‑border transactions, and bespoke derivative structures that intersect with M&A and financing matters.
With the formation of McDermott Will & Schulte, the firm has further solidified its standing as a leading financial services platform with deep capabilities across both traditional finance and alternative investments, a nuanced and highly technical area that sets McDermott apart in the market. In particular, Tyler’s experience structuring bespoke derivatives in connection with M&A and financing transactions is a differentiating area experiencing growing client demand.
“Tyler’s M&A and derivatives skill set aligns precisely with market demand in financial services,” said Harris Siskind, global head of McDermott’s Transactions Practice Group. “He can navigate specialized, high stakes structures while also serving as a versatile M&A practitioner and will be immediately accretive to our platform.”
“McDermott has built one of the most dynamic financial services practices in the market, and I’m excited to contribute to that momentum,” said Tyler. “The firm’s collaborative culture and depth across complementary practice areas create an incredible foundation to serve clients with complex, cross disciplinary needs.”
Tyler advises on transactions ranging from midmarket deals to multibillion dollar mandates for strategics, private equity sponsors, hedge funds, investment funds, and global financial institutions. He regularly guides clients through the entire deal lifecycle – from term sheet negotiation through post-closing matters – and counsels on securities law matters, including ’33 and ’34 Act compliance, securities issuances, and corporate governance. He also brings additional depth in shareholder activism matters, healthcare royalty financings, and cross-border transactions for clients across the US and EMEA.
