McDermott doubles down on Private Client growth with latest Los Angeles addition

Overview

International law firm McDermott Will & Schulte continues to expand its market-leading Private Client platform with the addition of Peter Tucci as a partner in Los Angeles. Peter advises ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, multigenerational families, and closely held businesses on sophisticated wealth transfer and tax efficient estate planning strategies.

Private clients, high-net-worth individuals, and family offices are playing an increasingly important role in the private capital ecosystem, providing a significant and flexible source of long-term capital across private market strategies. As allocations from these investors continue to grow, Peter’s arrival strengthens the firm’s ability to advise clients navigating this evolving landscape.

“Peter reflects exactly the kind of rising-star talent we seek – highly sophisticated, client focused, and committed to advancing our culture of excellence,” said Neil Kawashima, head of McDermott’s Private Client Practice Group. “He is commercially minded and trusted by leading families and his arrival is a clear signal that we are investing heavily in the future of this platform.”

Peter’s arrival builds on the momentum of Cary Robbins and David Pratt joining the firm in Los Angeles and Boca Raton, respectively, reinforcing the firm’s strategy of investing in elite talent in key wealth centers to further strengthen one of the world’s preeminent Private Client practices.

“Joining McDermott is an exceptional opportunity,” said Peter. “The firm’s Private Client team sets the standard globally, and its collaborative culture and international platform will allow me to provide an even higher level of service to my clients. I’m thrilled to contribute to the continued growth of the practice.”

Peter counsels on estate, gift, and generation skipping transfer tax planning strategies, structuring family businesses and investment interests, charitable giving, and complex trust and estate matters. His experience spans multi-jurisdictional planning, high value wealth transfer strategies, and advising fiduciaries throughout all stages of trust management. Peter joins from Proskauer.
