Marc Elovitz will speak at the Practicing Law Institute’s (PLI) Hedge Fund and Private Equity Enforcement & Regulatory Developments 2026.
He is the chair of the panel, “SEC Inspections and Examinations of Private Fund Managers,” addressing the challenging issues that commonly arise in SEC inspections and examinations of advisers to hedge funds and private equity funds. This discussion will show attorneys how to communicate with the SEC during these stages, how to organize records, and problem solve when encountering these issues. After completing this session, participants will be able to:
- Prepare for SEC examinations by identifying and organizing key records
- Anticipate current focus areas on examinations
- Take steps to reduce the risk of deficiency findings
- Navigate the boundaries of the attorney-client privilege
