Credit AIFs in Italy after AIFMD II, IFLR

Partner Andrea Giaretta, Counsel Nadia Cuppini and Associate Marco Colombo authored an article for International Financial Law Review (IFLR) examining how the implementation of AIFMD II is reshaping Italy’s private credit market and the implications for alternative investment fund (AIF) managers.

The authors explore how the new framework simplifies market access for EU funds while introducing considerations around fund classification, loan origination, leverage, liquidity and credit risk management. They also highlight areas requiring further regulatory clarification as Italy prepares to finalise its implementing measures.
