Overview
Dr. Nicholas Kubesch advises companies and investors on real estate law and corporate law, particularly in connection with (cross-border) M&A transactions.
In real estate law, he has extensive experience in complex single-asset and portfolio transactions structured as asset deals, share deals and joint ventures. He also advises on all other aspects of real estate law, including project development matters.
His practice further includes cross-sector corporate acquisitions, including auction processes, co-investments and carve-outs, as well as advice in connection with management participation programs.
Prior to joining McDermott, Nicholas worked for a leading German law firm and completed a secondment at a leading Canadian law firm in 2023.

- Hamburg Trust on the acquisition of a majority interest in the “LEIQ” real estate project in Offenbach and the establishment of a joint venture with the LUPP Group for the development of the project.*
- Blackstone and OfficeFirst on the acquisition and sale of large single assets and real estate portfolios across various asset classes as well as on asset management matters, in particular on the acquisition of the Canadian Dream Global REIT and “Oberbaum City” in Berlin, and on the sale of “THE SQUAIRE” in Frankfurt am Main, the “Herzogterrassen” in Düsseldorf and “Pontis Haus” in Munich.*
- Covivio on the sale of a portfolio of hotel properties and on ongoing lease matters.*
- Comcast on the sale of Sky DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) to RTL Group.*
- Leoni on the sale of a business unit.*
- Apleona on the acquisition of the Austrian Siemens Gebäudemanagement & -Services GmbH.*
- Inflexion on the acquisition of an interest in Tierarzt Plus Partner.*
- Lonestar on the acquisition of a business unit from Carrier Global.*
- Waterland on a partnership with the Duvenbeck Group.*
