Schulte Roth & Zabel is honored that the firm’s litigation seeking justice for the survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and the Greenwood community, with co-counsel Damario Solomon-Simmons, was chosen as the October/November 2022 cover story of the ABA Journal. In the article by Matt Reynolds, SRZ partner Michael Swartz and Special Counsel for Pro Bono Initiatives Sara Solfanelli discussed the ongoing lawsuit.

Sara explained that the Black community in north Tulsa still feels the impact of the attack all these years later. Regardless, according to Michael, the survivors are optimistic that they will eventually receive justice, saying “Uncle Red [Van Ellis] has pledged to live till 130 if it takes that long to win this case.”
