Marcus Fischer advises clients from all industries on tax issues in connection with transactions, as well as reorganizations and restructurings. One focus of his work is the support of M&A and real estate transactions starting with the acquisition or sale structuring, the support of the tax due diligence, the drafting and negotiation of contracts as well as the design/implementation of tax structuring measures after closing. In addition to his tax expertise, he has also been advising clients (including insurer) on tax and non-tax aspects of W&I insurances as well as special tax risk insurances since 2011.
Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte, Marcus first studied tax law for three years with the tax authorities in Hesse and, after completing his law studies, worked for more than 10 years with a renowned international law firm in Frankfurt and London. In addition to his qualification as a lawyer, he is a Diplom-Finanzwirt and a certified tax advisor.
