Samuel (Sam) F. Hamer focuses his practice on US and international tax matters.
Before joining McDermott, Sam served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Albert G. Lauber of the U.S. Tax Court. During law school he served as a law clerk in the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division where he worked on matters in the U.S. Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals. During law school he also served as an editor of The Georgetown Law Journal. He has maintained a longstanding pro bono practice counseling individuals on personal income tax issues.
