Has “Compliance” Had its Fifteen (Years) of Fame?

Michael Peregrine wrote this bylined article which cautioned that, 15 years after the Enron bankruptcy and passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, “anecdotal evidence suggests that corporate compliance may no longer occupy the highest level of interest amongst corporate leadership.” Mr. Peregrine reminded executives and directors that an effective compliance program is their “best protection” against potential prosecution for misconduct.
