Andrew Kim

Andrew Kim focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters within the energy industry. He has a particular interest in renewable energy projects and extensive experience in tax equity investments across the United States as well as experience advising clients on a wide variety of domestic and cross-border financial transactions.

He regularly advises lenders, sponsors and investors on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.

While in law school, Andrew served as the Managing Editor for the Human Rights Law Review. He was also selected as the Intern of the Year by the International Refugee Assistance Project.

  • Represented Chestnut Carbon, a nature-based carbon project developer, on the real estate aspects of a non-recourse project finance facility of up to $210 million
  • Represented GoodLeap as originator and servicer in the first-of-its-kind back-leverage securitization (TIP 2025-1) on the investor cash flows, a $183.3 million offering by ATLAS SP Securities of Solar Asset Backed Notes sponsored by Tactical Infrastructure Partners LP and backed by approximately 7,800 residential solar systems and related cash flows. The transaction involved restructuring of existing preferred equity “partnership flip” transaction
  • Represented Apex Clean Energy (Apex), a leader in renewable energy, in partnership with First Citizens Bank Energy Finance, on two financings totaling more than $150 million for battery energy storage projects in Texas
