McDermott advises OpenGate Capital on acquisition of Total Safety’s EMEA Division

International law firm McDermott Will & Schulte advised OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm specialising in the acquisition and operation of businesses, on its agreement to acquire the European and Middle Eastern (“EMEA”) division of Total Safety, a Littlejohn & Co. portfolio company. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected to close later in 2026.

Total Safety EMEA is a leading provider of mission-critical safety and compliance solutions to petrochemical and oil & gas customers across the region, offering integrated safety services, equipment rental and product sales.

McDermott’s team was led by London managing partner and European head of finance Aymen Mahmoud and included partner Smith Alpert, counsel Zoe Woodhouse and associates Fadi Mohamed, Raees Khan, Jonathan Bryant and trainee Louis Gregory, working as part of a cross-border team spanning eight offices.
