Bertrand Delafaye wrote this bylined article giving advice to foreign investors who purchase French vineyards. Such a purchase, Mr. Delafaye wrote, “is actually a more complex transaction than might be expected. Specific and challenging issues may arise with regard to due diligence, financing and the pre-emptive right of the French Government to purchase any vineyard that comes up for sale.” But he added that market opportunities and personal rewards make this “an attractive option for investors.”
