While in law school, Austin was a notes editor for the University of Illinois Law Review and editor-in-chief of the Illinois Business Law Journal. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable John Robert Blakey of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and was a summer associate at McDermott.
