Ena Cefo focuses her practice on complex cross-border disputes and investigations, drawing on more than a decade of experience representing multinational corporations and foreign sovereigns in high-stakes international arbitrations, commercial litigations, and investigations.
Ena has served as counsel in high-profile arbitration claims totaling tens of billions of dollars before leading arbitral institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, London Court of International Arbitration, and Dubai International Arbitration Centre. She has represented clients in complex US district and appellate court litigation involving asset recovery, judgment enforcement, and foreign sovereign immunity. Ena has also managed cross-border investigations for major multinational companies concerning the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-competitive laws and regulations, and various other national law obligations.
Ena has broad experience across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, finance, technology, construction, oil and gas, nuclear power, consumer products, and retail, and she has advised client in all major jurisdictions. Although currently based in Washington, DC, Ena draws on extensive international experience gained through living and working across Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia.
At Georgetown Law School, Ena was a Global Law Scholar and a member of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. Through her clinic work with the Harrison Institute for Public Policy, she advised clients on the drafting of foreign investment legislation and the implementation of proposed multilateral trade frameworks.
Ena maintains an active pro bono practice representing individuals in immigration and asylum proceedings.
