Dr. Maximilian Clostermeyer advises a wide range of corporate clients and institutional investors on real estate matters. He has significant experience in large portfolio transactions as well as transactions regarding major single assets by way of share deals, asset deals, or joint venture structures in all asset classes. He also advises clients on all other aspects of real estate law including project development advice.

Furthermore, his practice includes corporate law work, especially in connection with M&A transactions.

Dr. Johannes Honzen advises national and international companies as well as private equity and other financial investors on real estate matters, in particular on real estate transactions and joint ventures, as well as on corporate law and M&A projects.

He has significant experience in complex single-asset and portfolio transactions by way of asset deals, share deals, or joint venture structures. In recent years, Johannes Honzen has been involved in a large number of major real estate transactions in various asset classes and, in this context, has primarily advised large international real estate funds as well as national companies on all aspects of real estate and corporate law, including project developments.

Prior to joining McDermott Will & Schulte in January 2022, Johannes Honzen worked for a leading German law firm in Frankfurt, Munich, and London in the areas of real estate, M&A, and private equity.

Christoph Coenen advises leading global financial institutions and investors on a broad variety of often highly complex cross-border and domestic leveraged, project, real estate and acquisition finance transactions. His experience includes senior and mezzanine acquisition and leveraged financings, bridge facilities, structured financings, real estate financing, project finance transaction, promissory notes (Schuldscheindarlehen) as well as other banking and restructuring matters.

His long-standing track record in the area of real estate finance includes landmark-transactions such as Silberturm, Highlight Towers and Elbtower as well as the financing of shopping centers, logistic assets, residential portfolios and large-scale property developments.

Furthermore, Christoph has a particular focus on the renewable energy sector, where he has advised financial institutions and investors for many years on a large number of domestic and international project financings relating to all different kinds of renewables facilities (including offshore and onshore wind, solar and biomass). Christoph has also gained experience in advising on PPP-type transactions.

Previously, Christoph worked for a leading global law firm for 11 years in Frankfurt and London with a focus on asset-based lending, project finance and real estate finance.

He is a regular lecturer at EBS University for Business and Law in Oestrich-Winkel.
